It has been a blast and there is no way I can tell the story of today with just one picture. My first pictures of the litter pick would possibly shock you but the council and a few volunteers did an amazing job at 7 am this morning and by 10 am as the new crowds started to arrive and the sun was already shining strong, no one could possibly have guessed at the sight that greeted me when I arrived to help with the litter pick this morning.
Today I took in the carnival procession; attempted some street photography; visited the medieval camp; viewed more river activity and finished the day at Russell park where the last band is now playing and the crowds are still thick. At the back of the park, away from the beer swilling hoards, families were sitting picnicking and enjoying the last of the festival weather as I left.
I experienced the frustration of trying to photograph without up to date prescription lenses in my sunglasses, and without a view finder on the camera - neither to be recommended if you want a clue what you are capturing or what settings you are using!
I leave you with this little girl having fun. I may share a few more through the week. Whilst many of my photos were disasters, I have been working outside of my comfort zone and I am sure I will reflect and realise that I have learned a lot.
I echo Babs. I like the way the sun is catching the little girl's hair. Had to laugh re your viewfinder and glasses. I have been in situations where nothing is working, so I put the camera on auto and pray.
@mariapachon Maria, I have a version of photoshop which I was able to buy at a heav th discount when I was working in a school. I'm sure there is plenty of other less expensive or free software that would allow you to do this though.
@helenhall i thought it would be photoshop. I have a little version so I tried to do some colouring yesterday with grass and feet too. Thanks for the advise!
Oh but this is wonderful joy captured, you did well despite your lack of prescription lenses!! Great use of sc, this works really well. I've really enjoyed reading your feelings on the happening of the festival!
