I think this past week has shown me that there is plenty to find in buildings and structures that is appealing to the 'photographer' in me, it just requires a change of gaze. I shall return to taking what comes my way for a while - be it man-made or nature.
This one combines both. The west facing wing of the butterfly bridge appealed to me as it presented itself behind the grasses from the far side of the river proper (the bridge passes over the river diversion created by the Victorians to give Bedford The Embankment).
The grasses have totally messed up my sense of scale on this one. I am having a difficult time turning it into anything as large as a bridge! To me, it looks like the back of a lawn chair. Either way, it is a striking image. Obviously, it is my brain that isn't working, not yours.
@evalieutionspics oh I see your point. The bridge is such a familiar sight to me that I didn't see the problems of interpretation. There are two breadth of river and a boating lake between the blades of grass and the bridge.
