Sparklers

There are so many ways to present these fascinating seeds that are so often unwanted. I reflect now that about a year ago, before I had started to explore my camera and my software, I was completely unable to focus on a dandelion head and get a passable image. Now, I'm tweaking away in photoshop and wondering just which of the presentations of this oft detested weed I like best.

I haven't succeeded in high contrast U shaped histograms today, but I have had a deal of fun playing in photoshop and realising just how different successful b&w is to colour.

Posting this one now, to stop me from playing more. I really ought to be doing other things....
Beautiful sparkling image, Helen! I agree, dandelions have so much to offer in the way of photography. Fav!
B&W isn't an area I have ventured into...your images and descriptions are definitely inspiring me to give it a go. :-)
Have a fabulous weekend, Helen!

365 does help you see everything so much more clearly, even those pesky weeds turn out to be very beautiful. Perfect title, perfect b&w, perfect fav Helen.

@gaylewood thank you Gayle. Even if you just look at black and white options on the ones that don't quite work in colour, you will start to see that different things shine, and you will find you have more options open to you. I recommend having a go.

@flowerfairyann How kind Ann. It is the best thing about photography - being able to find the beauty that would previously have passed us by.
