This day on our trip, we hiked through the jungle along the ancient Pilgrims way path, taking care to avoid the overhead spider hazards and the underfoot termites. We reached the Kulen waterfalls and then on to the Phnom Kulen plateau - considered to be the most sacred mountain in Cambodia. We spent the night at the plateau's highest point, sleeping under mosquito nets at the temple.
The waterfalls are a popular place of pilgrimage and recreation and we arrived on a public holiday - the local crowds were out in full force. Apparently, this spot is featured in Lara Croft: Tomb Raider (but I wouldn't know!)
