Breaking the Ice by helenhall

Breaking the Ice

This one happens to fit today's January word of Bird. The young swan was first heard rather than seen by me this morning, as it made it's way through the layer of ice towards me - perhaps in hope of some tasty treat. I was unable to oblige and just stood their with my camera trying to catch the right angle to show the trail of broken pieces. It looks heavily edited, but not so.

Warrants viewing on black if you have the inclination

my alternative shot of the morning on the bird theme is relegated to my extras album - on account that neither my husband, nor my son, like it.
Still looking serene despite paddling through ice fragments. The colour of the water is such a deep and rich colour. Lovely Helen.

It looks super on black. Poor thing it must be so cold. Huge chunks of ice on the water.
