Ickwell Green Oak

Yesterday, the purpose of my reconnoitre to this part of North Bedfordshire was to investigate its photographic potential for my card making exploits. I didn't make any serious attempts at capturing the beautiful with it being such a windy, cold and dreary day, but this is the Green on which I will be holding a stall on May day with a friend who makes crafts for charity. It will be my final fund raising effort through card making (at least for this particular project). There is a large Maypole in the middle of the green and so this will be the scene of dancing and merriment and the crowning of the May Queen.

Using this to fill my blank B&W spaces in February.
There are some lovely trees on the green and I shall miss you on May Day as I won't get back from Chicago until the next morning much to Steve's annoyance

The squiggly branches of an old oak are so lovely and so distinctive. Nice shot

Trees make such great subjects - I'm always looking out for the ones that I think would make interesting images.
