I so very much wanted to capture this heron in flight. I crept slowly towards the flood waters with my camera all aligned and everything. I was sure of my settings and which ever way he flew, I was going to get a view. Obviously I didn't want to deliberately disturb him and so waited patiently until, blink, gone.
Taken this week but not today, for the nature shot in one week only, and for the tiptych week of the 52 week challenge.
Nice find... I like that you used one of your images as the framing background for your triptych.
so you have green grass where you are? We got some snow last night and all the grass still brown
oh, look at you getting a two-fer for this collage. and like @fbailey i'd be doing a victory dance with just one pic of this bird! as birds, i'm not good at unless of course they're lying on the pavement, dead. i probably won't even take a photo if that was the case! aces on the two-fer and the shots themselves!
I think birds in flight are one of most difficult things to photograph, especially panning shots. You got to start somewhere. Did you have your camera set on burst mode? At 7 or 8 seconds per frame, you are more likely to get a decent photo. I like the motion that your photo conveys.
