Just a bit of fun with a silhouette of me.I popped it onto our Willliam Morris walpaper and thought that whilst I was at it, I might as well profer a lymeric since these (apparently) were popularised by Edward Lear in the victorian era -
There was an old woman of Bedford
Who was once quite fond of her wedgewood,
but fearing it dated
and quite overrated, she
moved on to the Arts & Crafts era - then felt good.
William Morris famously said: "Have nothing in your house that you do not know to be useful, or believe to be beautiful."
(in case you are wondering, I didn't have quite enough time to grow my hair for the photo, so I took the liberty of adding a virtual bun).
Yes, unbelievably, I'm still going strong with 52 portraits of me!
i forgot all about the victorian prompt. and your response is, yet again, excellent. you are outdoing yourself, methinks! i might just emulate this one day when i've grown my nose nice enough for a silhouette profile! aces!
excellent poetry, which made me laugh. and if we can't laugh with these mad selfies, we are doomed ...
