While Will was at his drum lesson I popped into the Fitzwilliam Museum for half an hour (Egyptian gallery of course!). From the road, looking through the stone balustrade I caught sight of these two sitting on the wall within mauling distance of the two huge stone lions who guard one of the entrances (no one has told those lions that this entrance is no longer used and it doesn't really need guarding any more!) I think they were sketching. Although you never know, with exams looming from every direction, they may have been engaged in that age old student activity known as "revising outside in the sunshine."
It was the warmest and sunniest day of the Spring. May blossom is starting to bloom in the hedges, adding its lovely bittersweet pong to my evening walk with the dogs - a real treat today, as Ed had an away match in Linton, so we walked up Rivey Hill to to the water tower for perfect views. The football didn't go quite so well. When I got back to watch at half time, the score was "don't ask"
Three good things
1. hawthorn blossom
2. hills - when you find one in Cambridgeshire you have to make the most of them.
3. Museums that don't charge an entrance fee, but only ask for a donation, so you can pop in for twenty minutes when you have time.
