010 - Before the massive spread of the city of York, Clifton was a separate village, and there are some survivals of the old village. This attractive building is the Old Manor House, and it's one of my favourite buildings in the area

I was lucky to capture this - there is normally a queue of traffic here, and even if you find a gap in the traffic, the tree produces quite harsh shadows - but it does need sunlight to highlight the features in the brickwork. Today's hazy soft sunlight was ideal, and even the traffic cooperated!
it certainly is - I walk past it several times a week, and I just love it
