York Minster by if1

York Minster

021 - Could this be York's most photographed building? - a quick check in my own archive shows that I've taken several hundred pictures both inside and outside of the building! It is one of the largest gothic cathedrals in northern Europe, and the limestone that it is constructed of gives it great lightness and grace. And who could resist yet another photo, with a sky like this?
I love the minster too, lovely shot against the blue sky!

Thank you - it's hard not to take vivid pictures with such a sky, and the sun on the limestone walls of the Minster

@achilleos

Sorry you had such poor weather when you were in York - I hope this picture compensates a little.

Don't think you could ever take too many shots of this building. The architecture is fantastic! I think you'd probably see something new in it every time you look. Fab shot too ... Love the vibrant blue sky as well.

Thank you Miley - I've over 300 shots of the Minster, but I still keep going back and finding new shots. It's a wonderful source of inspiration
