Gorse by if1

Gorse

059 - I love the sight of areas of gorse in the countryside - especially if it's combined with areas of heather as it often is in the Isle of Man during late summer!

This isn't in quite such an exotic location - it's beside the remnant of the Dearne and Dove canal in South Yorkshire. (see my picture on 10th April 2012), and it's only a very small bush, but it gave a splendid splash of colour to the area.

I think it's the first time I've seen gorse in bloom this year, so it's another of the signs that summer is on it's way.
Nice close up of gorse, I love the smell of gorse bushes when they cover a hillside, heaven!

Thank you - I was quite surprised to find just this solitary bush. It often seems to cover quite large areas, and can be a real pain when I'm out walking in the hills!
