This is a loving husband looking down at his wife - the beautiful woman who I posted here a few days ago. They've been married over 65 years- proof that good love can last. He let me take a few shots of him too. I can see he could have used some light coming from his bottom left as well. I also couldn't figure out how to edit out the blur on his left glasses lens. Any suggestions?
You need to change your aperture to get more of him in focus. Maybe at least 5.6. I'd try f.8 tho.

I agree - he has a nice face but its difficult to get full focus when so close in. Dawn is right.

@dawnirwin @fueast thanks. A few weeks ago I posted a portrait and got feedback that the background should be more blurry. Looks like I over corrected. I so appreciate the suggestions

I agree with the advice that has been offered, perhaps increase the aperture. I've been told portraits are best around F5.6 to F8 Nice portrait, he looks like a kind man.

i would've used auto and then say "ok, don't move!".

Great portrait

Lovely looking man. I would have tried f8 and come out just a bit to get the whole of his chin in - at f8 that would have also given you more depth of field if you came out further.

he looks like a lovley man. Agree with the others on aperture settings...shooting people with specs is difficult! You did a great job

you did a good job....the softer focus of larger apertures are much more flattering to older people.

it looks to me actually that this picture has a bit noise. when do you shoot do use the viewfinder or the lcd display? the reason I ask that is because when we use too long the lcd display that camera can generate more heat which can cause noise.
the blurr and reflection on glasses you can only reduce when you use a polarizing filter.

hope this helps ;)

@carrapeta00 I use the view finder. I had never thought to use polarizing filter inside. So much to learn. Are you saying to use it when I take photos of people with glasses?
