I had a hard time choosing which of my camas shots I liked better so one will be in my main album and the other in my extras.
These have quite a story- first historically the local Indian tribes used the bulbs of these beauties as sweetener and a staple carbohydrate. Secondly, at this time of year when we drive to the valley there are fields filled with them so one day Jim and I stopped and he dug up several and brought them home to our garden which is almost entirely filled with native plants. They have since naturalized and we have several of them blooming. I think they are gorgeous.
They have fantastic colours in them. I think that's brilliant having native plants in your garden - ours would be full of buttercups and daisies - oh in fact it is!
