We saw this beauty in Malheur. I've heard them the other two times we've been there but never gotten to see one. I was ecstatic to see him and I love his one foot balance on the fence post.
Continued thanks for the fabulous response to my hummers
Got to fav - what a beautiful shot. My best move today definitely wasn't opening the door and letting Monty out just as a greater spotted woodpecker settled on the perfect place for a photo. I must have groaned because he stopped turned round and gave me a 'What???' look!
Another fav. I'm going to name my fav folder the JP folder. We see a lot of bird photos on 365, but never a snipe, and never with this perfect pose and great quality.
@rvwalker You are so kind and thoughtful with your comments. And I totally agree re the thank yous...sorry to bother you with one but I had to tell you how much your thoughtful assessments mean to me
beautiful shot. i just read this article about a phone app that imitates bird song. the birds are supposed to come right up to you. some bird watchers think it is cheating and potentially harmful (?)
@mwbc Don't know about harmful. I actually have the app and when I was in Hawaii several months ago I used it with a cardinal who I could hear and not see and it didn't respond immediately but eventually clearly got curious and came close enough so I could photograph him
@jgpittenger yeh. i don't see how it can be harmful. you are right about having to know what you are trying to spot and photograph. I will have to try it to get a nice shot of our cardinal family.
