Bokeh On the Rocks (1 of 1)

Still working on my bokeh shot. For those who've been following me for a while, you know I like the natural world best of all but I played around with Christmas lights. Which do you like best?
Thanks for all your support.
Awesome

This is a lovely and creative composition... very nicely done. As a nature lover myself, I am biased to think that nature is best, but it's nice to try new things.

In this case I prefer the blue as that is a cooler colour which ties in with the assumed temperature of the drink. If the other picture had been a cup of coffee for example then that would be a more natural colour.

The bokeh in each is interesting. Towards the centre of the picture the bokeh is much as I would expect from a point light source and what looks like a 70-200 f2.8. But as you move towards the edges the bokeh becomes less circular . Curious.

@davidgnc Yes, I wondered that too!?

This is cool! I have to check out your other bokeh posts.

But this is nicer. I love the connection between the bokeh and the glass. I have a set of cheap (very) clear christmas lights.

VERY cool!

I like the blue better as well---perhaps I'm biased to the color? :D

I like this one best, but not sure why. The reflection is a bit nicer. Good job trying something different.

Very creative Jane. I left the Christmas lights out this year - so handy for bokeh!

Tricky but love the colours in this one.
July 20th, 2013
Awesome! Very well made bokeh classic. I like especially the bokeh colors and blue backround.
July 20th, 2013
I like the other one best, I think the colours from the glass relate to the cherry in the glass. More a party look. However the colours and the blue in this are great too.

I'm like you, nature first, but always good to try new things, and this is a fab set up and result. My fairy lights have been dusted off a few times since christmas to create a bokeh shot!
