Foxglove Morning by jgpittenger

Foxglove Morning

I've been having a bit of a photographer's block of late and realize it is time to get back to daily shooting. I've been wanting to photograph this foxglove meadow but we've had so much wind of late that the only possible time is at dawn and sunset. There are a bunch of black bear that hang out here so I've been intimidated to go alone. My wonderful husband got up with me early this morning and braved the steep hike and plentiful mosquitoes to take some photos. This was not the shot I had in mind, but the sun bursting through behind the ig spruce in the background caught my eye.
Beautiful

What a great place to shoot. I'd like to see more of these lovely flowers..

Oh, Jane... you're back. :) I have lots of trouble keeping up with both sites... I am pretty lame on this one, too, darn it. A lovely shot. Perfect low POV, with the sweeping clouds above. Excellent clarity. Is there a way to get some extra space of sky on the left side? If not, no biggie. Thanks for checking out my fierce python.

I had to come in and check this out. I love foxgloves but never get to see them in what looks like a place where they are growing naturally. The lighting of the clouds looks like they are celebrating the day. I like the way you used the POV to exaggerate the height along the left side -- it really makes the scene pop. It does not look appealing to have to have hiked there through mosquitoes and with the potential of bears...you are dedicated! Nice husband to be willing to protect you!

Brave adventurers but my word so worth it Jane....a fave for your endeavours ! I love Foxgloves for their height ....to think we considered them a weed!

So nice to see you back! And with foxgloves that but my firmly in their place. I would take a guardian with me if there was a chance of encountering bears - here the only risk is a run in with a badger!

Great POV!

These are tough flowers to capture. I really like how you captured them from the distance instead of the typical close-up most, including me, try to capture. This is way more effective
