This sure shows up darker on 365 than on my computer in PS. This was taken a couple of weeks ago before I got absorbed in taking some publicity portraits for my daughter that were all due yesterday.
It wasn't the most exciting sunset but I had fun with using my big stopper filter and it felt good to get out with my camera for something other than birds.
You came back with a 'bang.' I loe this shot -- the wide angle landscapes are so tricky and here you did it all. You have an interesting foreground (you said it wasn't exciting, but the overall really is effective), the smooth water from the longer exposure, and then the layer of low clouds leading to the sunset. Works with thirds because of the way the horizon is 'solid' even where the lower clouds are. Beautifully done and a fav!
Outstanding photo, Jane! So glad to have the opportunity to see you magnificent work again! I'm afraid I am a bit sporadic at posting or commenting these days, but I can't bring myself to drop it all together.
Great to see you back here, Jane. I hope you will find the time to comment as well - I always appreciate your frank and direct comments; must have been one of the most important factors to help me grow and pay attention to detail. I love this image with the neat composition, flowing water and intricate patterns in the sky. Very special to see such a calm image of the sea.
