I've never seen these flowers...I guess...on banana trees before. To me it looks just like a heart. Best on black if you have time and inclination.

i've not seen this in a very long time, must be 50 years since. that's how the fruits are formed afterwards. but the banana heart makes for a good vegetable dish, in lemon or tamarind broth, be it salmon or any firm white fish, or pork or beef. the flowers when dried is used in beef or pork stew and gives the broth a bit gel-like. we used to sauté the banana hearts, julienned, with ground beef and eaten with steamed rice. very nice capture, it sure got my attention! aces!
