For three days running, I kept startling a night heron and having him take off before I could get my camera to my eye. I was disappointed because I rarely get to see them where I live. Finally the last day we were there, I got some shots and was happy to find this one has a perfectly sharp eye despite having been shot from quite a distance. Hooray! Best on black to see the detail on the bird.
