Avoiding the Hunters

Not the best shot. It was taken through glass and it was barely daylight but to have her standing about 20 ft away and looking at me with curiosity was a treat. We haven't had the elk in our yard for a long time but it is hunting season and we've been hearing shots from the meadows above us. They somehow seem to know they will be safe in our yard. Yesterday there were 6 cows and a young buck but they kept themselves behind our deck railing so a photograph wasn't going to happen.
Thanks for your visits, comments, suggestions, favs
What a privalege Jane, how lovely they feel safe in your garden. I so hate guns!

What a gorgeous animal. How could someone look at her and pull a trigger?!

Wow!! I love it -- and how fun it is to read the words about not seeing an Elk in your yard for a long time! Mmmm...I literally cannot remember ever having an elk in my yard!!
