cicle hunt

My Los Angeles family was looking for icicles.
Ooh so cool!

Bet those icicles could be lethal if they dropped...

@eleanor They are all gone now, we have had a crazy weird winter, warm, rainy, snowy and icy - glad we had a few for my brother in law.

@365projectorgjenfurj Thank you very much for the fav. This house has the best ones in the neighborhood- the people only live there in the summer so they don't knock them down like the rest of us.

Lovely delicate fronds - like very fine leaves! We rarely see anything like that over here.

Well you sure found some great ones. They look quite deadly though, like swords hanging there.

@maskerade Thank you, most people have what they call heat tape on their roofs which melt the snow and prevent the ice. This house is a summer residence and the owners do not seem to be worried about things like ice.

@stephanies My brother in law (from L.A,) was amazed at them. He is the one taking the iphone shot.

Amazing icicles.

@francoise That is my bil with his iphone. I am jealous of the camera on it but I don't like the monthly bill for the service.

@la_photographic Thank you, this house is on my normal route for my daily walk and I love seeing how many icicles they have.

Gosh! Not a good idea to stand under them, makes a great subject foa pic though

Wow must be cold.

That's very cool!

@susale This house had them each year, they are on the north side and get no real sun exposure. We get a fair amount of ice since they don't salt the roads and walks, kills the trees. These people only live here in the summer months so I don't think that they know what long cool icicles they get.

@sdutoit Not as cold as Wisconsin but maybe its the 7000 foot elevation, not sure?

@overalvandaan Thank you, my family who lives in Los Angeles really liked them too. They complain at 50f, while we are still wearing shorts :):)
