Tag Challenge-PMAE No 8

For the current tag challenge ( http://365project.org/discuss/themes-competitions/30287/tag-challenge-145) my words were canon and field. At first I mis-read the canon and thought that I had chosen cannon which is a completely different can of worms. I had all sorts of ideas about that word but then double checked my choices and saw that there is no 'cannon' in the list of tags. I also then double checked the difference in meaning between cannon and canon. This colonist in America often gets the English language wrong so I've learned to use resources, ie the Oxford Dictionary and Thesaurus. Anyway, I went back to the drawing board of creativity. The field part gave me no real problem. I settled on canon meaning 'an established principal'. This cookbook, is my first and most reliable source of cooking help. I received my namesake in cookbooks (so inscribed by my sister inside the cover) 46 years ago. It is stained in several areas, the binding broken but still in one piece. I hope to pass this baby down to the next generation but being graced with sons who don't enjoy cooking as much as I, maybe the grand kids?

Photo taken with my phone since the camera that I brought with me to combine the tag challenge and do the nifty fifty challenge chose to forget its SD card. Bad camera! I also do not know how to shot in B&W with the phone so I admit to Photoshop edits.

The PMAE lesson today was to never trust that your camera is ready with juice and storage. Double check Girl and then check it again!!!!!
That's a really interesting essay, Joy! Interesting comment on American colonists getting English wrong... I thought the early settlers simply preserved words that were eventually lost back in England? Also if you like cooking (as opposed to 'fixing' meals) how could you raise sons who don't? I love cooking and have been head cook in our households for decades. My 3 sons also love it, although each has a style unlike mine. And these cameras that don't remind you that the battery is flat and have forgotten the SD card... I mean. how primitive is that? :-)
I like the pic BTW!

@yrhenwr Thank you so much. Cooking and the kitchen is my area. Both my sons can hold their own but they excel in technology where I am weak. They are my go to I T guys. I think that a camera which has a setting for verbally saying, 'I'm hungry or no replay available' might make us millionaires. :):)

@kali66 Thank you kindly, my other idea for cannon was to put my printer in the middle of a field :):)

What a fabulous narrative Joy!! Brilliant use of your tag words and I learnt another meaning for canon!! I find my camera doesn't remember to reset the white balance!!

@blueberry1222 Good one, I didn't see that one. That cookbook and I are often seen together. Very grateful for the following. Thank you.

@ludgate Thank you, sometimes words really do explain images. The cookbook is a real story for me. I've added my own edits in many recipes but don't we all put our own stamp on things in life.

@30pics4jackiesdiamond Thank you kindly. My camera is at times a friend but sometimes has a real wicked sense of humor, not that I've have anything to do with things. :):)
