PMAE No 16

Balanced composition- this was our Dogwood 52 week challenge this week. I chose to break out my IR camera and walk around town a bit.
My lesson for today is the IR can help with 'hiding' some of the less desirable components of a composition. The water in the foreground is quite murky when seen without IR.

Thank you so very much for all the wonderful comments, extremely grateful.
There is something very magical about this shot. I really love the white trees.

really great!

@deborah63 Thank you kindly for the fav. The infrared gives the trees that cool tone. Leaves tend to reflect the light with IR.

@joemuli Truly appreciate the fav. I just got my camera back from being cleaned and I get to 'play' more. I do love the strangeness of infrared.

@taffy Thank you very much, trying to be faithful to the nifty fifty challenge and my self imposed 'dark' year I realized that I can still shoot IR.

@lsquared Truly grateful for the fav. The IR is a weird world but oh so much fun.

This is really outworldish. Love the IR effect!

It's beautiful. I keep expecting a white deer to step into the scene.

Lovely IR scene

I like the feeling of looking out from shadows into the brighter and more open area.

@domenicododaro Very grateful for the fav, thank you. The IR world is fun to play with.

@evalieutionspics Thank you so much for the fav, the white deer might be a challenge but who knows this is Flagstaff and strange things happen all the time.

@ziggy77 Thank you very kindly for the fav. The IR makes it look like winter in the middle of fall. I'm really not ready for the cold temps yet.

@gardencat The little channel is a bit hidden but the light was good for IR, mid day, full sun. I don't have to get up early when shooting IR.:):)

Well done.

THis one is VERY nice. Like the reflection, the water, the composition. The shading of the leaves. Everything. Fav

@haskar Thank you so much.

@mbrutus Thank you, I got my camera back from cleaning and thought that I should use it. I like this pond. I should make more of an effort to visit regularly.

IR can lend a 'wonderland' feel I think. You say you are going b/w for a year? So I'll have to stick around for at least another 11 months!
September 20th, 2017
@yrhenwr It can, I started out in b&w film eons ago and wanted to make myself re-learn some old lessons. Hopefully along the way, I'll learn a few things things too.

I think you got a great shot to show the concept of balance! I struggled with it as well!

@stephanies Thank you kindly for the fav. I think that some challenges are more growth in learning than others.
