Charged up my old and first digital- a Sony HSC-H50. I believe it is considered a bridge camera. I am just trying to stay true to my theme this year by experimenting. This is ICM which I never tried before with this camera-at least intentionally. This little camera came with a Carl Zeiss lens which I wish I had for all my other lenses but, alas they are only found on the more expensive lenses. The image quality with this lens has always astounded me.
I think this makes an interesting photo. Looks especially good on black. I've experimented a little with ICM. It's fun but hard to get the right direction and amount of movement to get the best result.
@30pics4jackiesdiamond I was surprised how well this worked. I am trying to remember all the controls for this. It is still a great camera to have even if it is slow- it has a memory stick instead of an SD card. My son just is amazed that it still works after 9 years.
This is intriguing. Love that you used an old camera. I laughed that 9 years is considered old, because I still use a film camera occasionally. But digital technology changes so quickly.
@eudora It bothers me too that the new fancy and exepnsive stuff doesn't last. I am happy to use it as long as I can. @golftragic Oh please do. The Zeiss lenses are just amazing. @s4sayer Thank you. Never in my wildest dreams did I think that 9 years old would be vintage. I am so getting old anymore :):) @haskar This little one is still fun to play with. I have given it away a couple of times, sister and son, but they can't be bothered with it- so I am rather happy about that. @tstb13 Being older than average myself, old doesn't mean unusable- we just have more creaks at times.:):)
This has worked very well! 9 years... !! The digital age is great for manufacturers: not only are cameras quickly outdated but built -in obsolescence is so easy for them to achieve
