Cold King’s by judithg

Cold King’s

I’ve sort of given up regular supermarket shopping but it can’t be completely abandoned so I headed out this morning. I stopped on the way past King’s College for my daily photo - this is such an iconic view that I tend to avoid it but it looked pretty today. The pavements are a bit lethal with ice so I didn’t go out walking - I’ll have to do extra tomorrow.

Weather: icy.
Covid: a young couple got fined for driving 65 miles to find a Sunday roast because their mums let them down. That’s two reasons for a fine if you ask me!
Good things: a bit of warmth in the sun if you got yourself in just the right spot.
Wow such magnificent buildings, it might be iconic view but it’s new to me! Fave!

Yes such a classic view, but always good to see and especially when there's a covering of snow

Gorgeous view!
So was the couple fined for traveling in general, or for traveling for a trivial purpose? I agree with you - sounds like a fine is in order to temper their entitled attitudes concerning their moms. :)

I wondered if you would brave the cold and ice today. Spectacular view and illustrates our beautiful day today with sun if (like you say) you managed to get in a sheltered sunny spot. Need all the vitamin D we can get at the moment

@peggysirk you can only leave home if you have a reasonable excuse. Taking a photo of King’s isn’t one of them either but the walk to do it is! The police aren’t stopping people round here so long as they’re on the move and not in a group. I’m not sure what made them stop the young couple but they went from Derbyshire to Yorkshire and the Derbyshire police are famously the most vigilant in the country so perhaps they checked their number plate. They recently fined 2 women £100 each for driving independently 5 miles to a country park to meet for a socially distanced walk. They said 5 miles was too far and because they’d each brought a coffee they were having a picnic. They did a u turn on that case after adverse publicity!

Such a contrast between this lovely peaceful scene and the supermarket.

Beautiful shot, very clear. My wife and I attended a funeral today, only a dozen or so there. After the service a lot of hugging went on, my wife and I abstained, and when approched politely turned hugging own.

@jgpittenger mistletoe. Not quite as rampant at King’s as elsewhere in the city. I’ll have to take my camera Churchill where the trees are really transformed my it.
