Taken on my walk yesterday- I think they’ll all be open today. I got my exercise in the garden today- lovely and mild and not completely sodden so I’ve cleared the dead flower stalks etc. Also my neighbour called round because she ordered an apple tree online as a gift for a friend and accidentally bought 10 - so now 4 of her neighbours have at least one nice Red Windsor apple tree! We’re very pleased because we’ve never had a good eater - I always get mine from next door’s tree that overhangs.
Weather: pleasant
Covid: very sad to learn that a coach from Adam’s old school took his own life yesterday leaving a wife, two young children and innumerable young men who have loved & admired him. The lack of community sport must be a huge factor in the increase in mental health issues for those that really depend on exercise - exacerbated by lack of social interactions. Let’s pray we can get out and back to support networks and activities before we lose more outstanding young men.
Good thing: we have two lots of cat medication, I think I’ve deciphered the dosing and Rafiki loves both of them which will avoid a lot of stress.
Oh that is tragic Judith..... the worst thing for the family to live with...it will all be if only....
Love your crocus pinks....lovely haze in the background...I am fancying a pink kitchen a bit...the new colour I believe. Good on yer Rafiki!
I have never seen crocus colors like that with the two tones. Gorgeous. We still have six inches of snow on the ground and more coming early week, it will be awhile before I see my crocuses! So sorry about the coach...I have lost a brother and a nephew by suicide...none of us had a clue about their despair. So tragic.
Beautiful and hopeful. I share your hopes.... a young woman in our village's sister took her own life last week. Living alone, with mental health issues and less than usual access to family support. So tragic.
Beautiful photo. And love the apple tree story.
But so sad for the family of the young man.....the loneliness of so many people in these difficult times is immeasurable.
I agree with you about let's pray that we can soon get out and meet again soon so we can support people in our local communities and live in supportive partnerships with others. 💛
I love this beautiful photo of hope and promise...much like the anticipated fruit from the marvelous apple tree gift.
I wish the young coach had been able to see just a bit of hope through his despair. That breaks my heart.
Beautifully taken photo. I really like the way you offset this.
erribly sad about the coach. Not the first person I have heard of recently who has taken their own life. Lockdown has so exacerbated problems that have just got bigger in the mind without the social interaction. Terribly sad.
@bkp so sorry to hear that Barbara- I think men’s mental health is being taken more seriously but resources are still stretched here - probably everywhere. Most of the hundreds of crocuses are wild type purple ones but there are odd clusters of fancy ones - these ones were just lovely.

Terribly sad to hear your shocking news. Its all been too much for to many.

So sad about the coach 😢
