For over 20 years there was an odd little room over the stairs in our house. It had been converted into a bathroom at one point and then partially/badly converted back to a tiny room where the son of the previous owner stayed when he wasn’t at his mum’s. It was Nigel’s first office and either freezing or boiling so for several years was storage with the door firmly shut. When our elderly neighbour died we invited the new buyers in to see what we had done with our extension and they happened to say that the thing they really liked about their house was the turn in the landing. Seeing our confused faces they then took us next door and we discovered that our little room had been some mad conversion from a light filled landing under the dormer. We pretty much immediately arranged to have it converted back and the insulation/window repaired. It’s one of our favourite spots now and also popular with Rafiki although she’s grumpy if she’s made the effort to go upstairs and the sun isn’t warming a spot for her. She’s a bit raggedy where her neck was shaved for the blood tests.
Weather: chilly breeze
Covid: more than 30 million people vaccinated
Good thing: decking v smart and a fitting home for the daffodils.
