I spent quite a lot of the day doing some overdue cleaning so was glad to get out for a walk with Rebecca in the evening. The parks and riverside were buzzing with youngsters and although mostly young and unvaccinated our cases are so low that I didn’t mind it - mind you Rebecca told me that it was just the same last summer so it’s a good thing I didn’t know about that. This peony was massive and is out much earlier than mine. It smelled lovely.
Weather: warm and fine - you could believe that it’s spring!
Covid: outdoor socialising seems to be safe enough....
Good thing: sunset on the river. We’ve turned into an outdoor nation.
Oh heavenly! I love peonies, and used to even tolerate the ants that came in with them to have that fragrance in my old house. My buds are only a quarter inch now, it will only take a warm sunny day to bring them out soon. My new ones are showy but not fragrant.
