Within hours of the first lockdown starting Adam’s girlfriend had lost her part time job and had several other opportunities withdrawn. She requested half a day to feel sorry for herself and then cracked on looking for other challenges. She found a competition run by the Design Museum to find ideas to encourage children to wash their hands and came up with the idea of temporary tattoos. The idea was selected for the exhibition and since then she has written a book, found a professional illustrator to collaborate with her, persuaded a publisher to print the books (for free) and sourced a manufacturer for the tattoos. This week she donated books and tattoos to the art department at Great Ormond Street Hospital and over the summer she will be selling them at pop up workshops at several museums, exhibitions and events. I can’t say I would have responded so positively but I’m taking credit for providing the kitchen table!
Weather: sunshine, showers and that blooming wind which was properly blustery today
Covid: no covid deaths reported for the first time since March 2019. Alert level reduced to 3.
Good thing: book group in the garden with blankets.
Well isn’t she a little marvel....so enterprising of her, brave too to set out on her own like that....the bad news turned around into great opportunities! I’m sure you provided encouragement too Judith. Good luck to her.
Way to go, Charlotte! Very impressed with her get up and go and her bright idea. Cheering her on!
Amazing to have no deaths at all for the first time in that long. I have got so used to hearing the daily death toll, I can hardly believe it is zero today. Good news.
Well done to have contributed the use of your table to help with Charlotte's incredible achievement! Such an awesome accomplishment when the chips were down. Honestly, what better way to get kids to wash their hands than washable tattoos. Simply brilliant.
