If King's Parade was the view from 10 to 2 this is the view from 2 o'clock. I never cease to be amazed by the detail that was included in these buildings - many built in the 16th and 17th centuries. Every chimney and roof gable was thought out. Here you have St.John's in the top right then Trinity with the golden glass tower (and the Wren library off to the left) and Gonville and Caius in the foreground. Best viewed large although I'm not sure why it looks fuzzy as the original is OK - maybe I shouldn't have processed it.
yes perhaps you should have not done the " mess around "..which reminds me must watch that film again.planes trains and automobiles..wonderful piccy though..even better with a glass by my side just a tipple you know....the one thing i luv about Cambridge the town planners have not gone daft like many towns and cities you can pass by some could make you cry...with the buildings erected since the war...
@phil_howcroft Trouble is I'd lose that nice lion - and all these shots are taken through holes in a thick metal 'stop you falling off' grid which limits the angles. I'll just have a word with the college about removing that flagpole!! I'll tell you what I might go up there again when the flags are up - that would be a cool shot - if the tower is open when its own flag is raised....
@judithg actually Judith I was going to say it would look good with a flag fluttering :)......the image would be more flattering with a fluttering ..have a great 'photo weekend' :)
Don't know why, possibly the tones here and colours give it a warmer feel.
Only thing that annoys me is that flag pole in the foreground ...what would happen if you made it portrait or moved the camera a bit more left ?
Nice warm image though :)
