The bane of a spaniel's life - burs!! Monty was covered in these - they are a devil to get out and he chewed one off his leg, got it stuck in his throat and was sick everywhere. The joys of dog ownership....
@sleepdozer57 After 20 mins of retching, gulping, drooling and general unpleasantness I took him to the vet where he fashioned a miraculous recovery. Still - the vet helped me find the remaining burs so that was £26 worth :0{ !!
sorry about the 'burs' i sure Monty appreciated the TLC he got from you and the vet ...nice to see a Monty picture, albeit in unfortunate circumstances :(...I just told Ruby about Monty ....she looked at me rather puzzled !!!!
@sleepdozer57 Yes but the excess is about £70 so it doesn't often kick in - though very useful last year when he needed two operations to get seeds out of his foot. It also covers you if they do something daft like run in the road & make a car crash. Much more expensive than the cat insurance though.
They do look a bit like hair slides & he looks very sweet in them but a rather expensive adornment !!! Poor Monty, he must have been rather frightened ! These animals do cost a lot of money but what else can you do !! Tell Adam to train as a vet !!! Hope he has got over the shock !
The cat brings in rusty nails and stuff on her magnetic collar.. the dog - mainly snakebite/poison/huge-vets-bills recently!
