Sorry about another dog in snow shot but I liked the action! @helenmoss's dog Storm in hot pursuit. They don't get long doing this because it tends to end in tears! Quick techy question - the Auto WB made this really blue - what's the best setting for snow? Cheers.
PS Taken near Elmdon (near Duxford) - loads of walks round there and the Elmdon Dial is VERY dog-friendly & does great food.
..on my lumix there is a dedicated snow setting.. and some options on the AWB setting to slide blue to red.. would imagine your top notch shooter will hve these options.. could be RTFM time my dear..
Wow, great action shot!!! Storm looks a bit ferocious on this pic though.
From what I remember of my last snow shots (a year ago), "daylight" works well but gives a pretty cold (bluish) pic, and "cloudy" was my favorite. The pics looked warmer than in the reality, but I liked the tones.
They are both very serious about their jobs - Storm is quite the herder, and Monty is all about the play! Lovely shot! I have to edit when I shoot in snow as my point and shoot has only one setting! But we haven't had much snow to speak of., so it's rather moot this year.
well done for getting this great shot while the dogs were going crazy like this. I'm afraid Storm gets a bit carried away and forgets he's three times Monty's size and what he thinks of as a playful nip could take poor Monty's leg off!
@helenmoss Well Monty's got smile on his face!! Unlike me as I've just found my pink glove under the table with bits missing...and it's survived being lost umpteen times only to get mauled....
Great action shot! My compact camera has a 'snow' setting, but my DSLR doesn't. Some of my shots do come out with a blue balance, and I could adjust it in Photoshop, but sometimes I think the blue enhances the image, giving a sense of coldness..
PS.. this is top dog action
