Graduation party at Trinity Hall. There were some OTT wedding type hats from some of the mums - sadly no national dress around while I was loitering. I thought Clare and King's looked quite spectacular in the bright light. Boy was it hot - it reminded me of my PhD graduation which was the end of July (1990!) and was also super humid and hot - a nightmare in a heavy gown and hood. I have looked up a few of the hood colours - bronze silk lining for MEng, mid-cherry silk and fur for MB, blue silk and fur for BEd etc....
It must be very exciting graduating at one of the Cambridge Universities, just has that extra zing I would think! Are guests expected to dress up to these events as at a wedding? All different colour hoods too, wonderful!
@happypat Well I did take one or too fancy hats but the focus was off - Monty was panting so hard I was having trouble holding the camera still!! @caddick Lucky him!! Beautiful college - looks like a bit of canoodling on their wall!
@caddick LOL - I think they must have graduated in the morning or hadn't gone yet - they go in order of age after King's, Trinity and St. John's. Not sure where Clare fit in the order!!
cycled over the bridge, noted the garden party and contemplated taking this photo, but decided against it (too many tourists irritating me at the time)! Next time I'll look out for the dog!
