Me and a Lavatera around 21st July 1994 - a little nostalgia brought on by Cathy's photo... You'll all notice that I hadn't gone grey and thence blonde at this point!
Oh Judith this is a wonderful look back in the past & you look absolutely beautiful & SO like the baby you went on to have...even the Lavatera plant is there!!! Clever you for digging it out & what a wonderful sight this is for allowing us all to share our stories!
Judith - this is so lovely and the family likeness is very evident here - although I can't see her, you know what I mean!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks for posting it.
Awww, this is so beautiful. How funny that we posted our bumps new and old at the same time. You look so very happy in this shot and it turns out you had every reason to :).
@jannaellen Yes though I have to confess I wasn't so happy when I was back standing in the garden a few days later - more super shell-shocked!! It's a really tough week or two first time round (HOW could they let me take a baby home - I didn't know what to do with it?) but it does get easier!! I think we modern career women types have unreasonable expectations - you just have to accept that this beautiful little thing is going to take ALL your attention and energy for a while. Then you have to have more babies because the next is SO much easier!!!
@judithg : Wise words, the truth of which I will see soon enough, I'm sure ;). At least there will be a midwife coming to my house every day for the first ten days (our health care provides for that), so I won't be all alone. But I'm sure it will be tougher than I can imagine so I just try not to imagine anything ;)).
Oh so beautiful you look in that shot too, oh I remember how hard it was and yes the shock of your first child. People give you all sorts of advice while prego but it NEVER prepares you for reality. When #2 came around I thought oh, I know the routine this time - wrong, shock having 2 is not easy either!
