I couldn't resist photographing our magnolia in all its glory - mostly to compare with the rubbish weather of a few weeks back. I can't work out what to do with the exposure on Nigel's laptop so sorry if it's off. Speaking of Nigel he just one three gold medals (out of three) - what a star. And Rachel got silver and bronze in a very strong group. Proud wife & mum. http://365project.org/judithg/365/2013-03-13
Ooh lovely Judith & a wider shot than the original taking in your summerhouse too. I can see where Nigel was sitting last time with poor ill Monty. That is one massive tree, does it grow over to the other side in an arch or is it two trees?
Have shown it Harry as he didn't know what a magnolia looked like although we have been looking in folks gardens as we drove past today.
Even more of a well done to the medal winners & your working son....peace in the house!!!
@happypat That's an amelanchior on the other side. They are definitely not supposed to be that big and it's looked a bit sad the last couple of year's - the leaves turn bright red but they've been dropping early - maybe feeling a bit elderly. Don't tell Harry the magnolia petals are pretty messy - but worth it!
@happypat Yes - better than over a path! It's quite famous with the neighbours - it got frosted and went brown one year and a neighbour came round and complained because she'd invited guests round!
This is idyllic! Love how the blue gray of your global headquarters goes with that ominous sky. Is this a view towards your house or away? It's a lovely view either way!!
At last spring somewhere on these isles, thankfully i missed a lot of the late crap weather....nice picture luv the summer house a place to hide away from all the political jargon bouncing around...as for uni..fingers crossed on her results this summer....she has picked a tough coarse so few places around the country rejected by Manchester,Newcastle,Sheffield Bristol, accepted by her reserve...Nottingham so fingers and everything else crossed...
It's incredible looking back and seeing that hail! You are so lucky to have these in your garden. Beautiful garden btw. Think I may take a stroll down the road tomorrow and 'borrow' the neighbour's tree for a shot xx
That's a fabulous shot - what a lovely space you have there and magnolias.....are just the best! I'm very envious!
Good to be proud wife and mum.......celebrations are such fun!
