I was reversing my car out of my garage and noticed a little fly on the outside of my windscreen and thought it was colourful. I got out the car to close and lock the garage up and it was still there, so what else could I do but get my camera out of the boot (Trunk if your American but I thought that it was only Elephants that had a trunk).
As I was getting the camera out and ready, I kept staring forward expecting the fly to have disappeared. I sneaked up slowly and managed a couple of captures before the fly scarpered. See there's no flies on me when it comes to getting a capture and I'm sure I saw the fly comb it's hair in the reflection before it flew away.
Fisherman's tale - I went fly-fishing this afternoon and this is all that I caught. (It's the way I tell them)
Amazing macro of the fly! I have a similar approach. From my experience with macros i find taking a distant photo then get closer slowly, take another, then get even closer then take another, and so on until the lens is practically touching him or he flys away. If he stays i take different angle shots until i find one i like.
@gilbertwood@skipt07@kathiecb@ianrm@quickshots Thank you all so very much for your comments and FAV's, I'm glad you can see what I see in the picture. @kathiecb Yes it's pooping on my clean windscreen, that's why you wouldn't want it tp land on your food. Yuk!
@ladymagpie - Heather I believe people who once traveled on steamships and packed their belongings in trunks, trousers that end at or above the knee are called trunks, trees have trunks and our torsos are known as trunks. I thought you wore boots on your feet to keep them dry and something you do to your computer.
