On top of our local hills are the commons where cows graze in Summer whilst golfers hit balls around the fairways. All us locals go for walks across these commons for fresh air and exercise, but they also make a beeline to a building in the middle of nowhere. In fact I know this place is so important to others who may have moved away from the area, that when they visit families this is also a place of pilgrimage.
I'm talking about Winstones Ice-cream shop that has been making ice-cream for almost 100 years. I called in today to get a tub of my favourite, Rum and Raisin but as you can see they have over 40 different flavours which can be eaten in cones or taken home a big carton home.
This is the 16 flavours on the counter today. What is your choice:
Back L to R
1. Gingerbread with mint
2. Spiced Plum
3. Mint Choc Chip
4. Banana & Toffee
5. Blackberry & Cream
6. Rum & Raisin
7. Vanilla
8. Toffee Apple
I'm so glad I'm not a Libran. I'd never make my mind up. Love ice cream and what a great selection there is here. Yummy. I've put weight on just gazing at it!
Can't make up my mind between the Spiced Plum and the Honey & Ginger - visions of yumminess as I finish up at work. They should pay you a commission for the great advertising photo
Super composition. I think we all have memories of local dairies/ice cream shops. Fav. I'd have to give the Christmas Pudding a try just cause it's different and likely only available at this time of year. Yum
Have a great Christmax
