The title of this picture could have been put two different ways, "A Sweet Little Shop" or "A Little Sweet Shop". Which ever way the emphases must be the word - LITTLE.
This is our village Newsagent and is situated next to my flowery friends house. I'm actually stood in the shop doorway and if there are more than 2 customers it's full up. It opens at 5.00 am, (what's that) and is one of those places where the shopkeeper knows everyone in the village.
It's the best place to buy that birthday card or a roll of sticky tape, whilst the children's eyes light up at all the sweet jars on the shelves, much better to buy your humbugs loose in a paper bag.
It's so casual the shopkeeper was sat outside in a deckchair enjoying the sunshine and only popped back in when they had a customer. You can't beat a little village shop.
View with the dark background if you can and thank you all for your comments etc. that put my 2 goldfinches on the pp page yesterday.
Sounds like our local shop! It is now a spar but known by all the paper shop. It's hopefully going to expand into a bigger site in the village, the ex British Legion site. But I love village communities.
If I lived close by, the shopkeeper and I would be great friends as he would have quite a bit of my paycheck each week and I would have many sweets. Fav for me!
'Proper' shop and a real Aladdin's Cave. Every village should have one. Very useful absent for minded old ladies. The shopkeeper will know what i usually have even if I've had a senior moment.
Lovely shot
