Who left the landing light on. by ladymagpie

Who left the landing light on.

The title of this picture comes from words that my Father was always shouting when we were young kids. He was very thrifty with his money which we said came from his Jewish background.

When we came down stairs he would always go to the hall and make a check and then angrily shout, "Who left the landing light on", before switching it off

I already had my stupid sense of humour and had visions of planes landing on the roof so when I spotted this one parked on top of some garages It reminded me of Dad's thriftiness. I had a message from a Facebook friend who had seen my pictures of the old cars, he asked if I had seen the plane on the roof, so I had to go back down and take this picture. It must have had a very short runway.

Thank you for all your comments and FAV.

Fav for originality - must be one of the most unusual pics I've seen on 365! I think our parents were a generation who just had to be thrifty and it's been ingrained in me to a certain extent too.

A great find and a lovely story. I guess he mistook street lights for landing lights or maybe he overdid the giggle juice.
