This is two of ten containers of pumpkins in the entrance to our local supermarket, you can't get in without tripping over them. Now our 365 friend Lin / linnypinny thinks that I have a fear of pumpkins, that's not quite true as you will see.
I hate seeing them everywhere because it reminds me that Halloween is just around the corner. You know all those local spooky children knocking at your door saying trick or treat.
What's wrong with that you may ask, well nothing wrong with the children if they turn up. For the past 5 years I've got prepared by buying loads of sweets for the children but none arrived. That means I end up having to eat them all myself, but I'm ON A DIET. Hence pumpkins frighten me in case I put weight on. I do buy the ones that I like !!!
I laughed to read this Heather. Sometimes we have kids from down our lane, there are only six in total but I was all ready last year but apparently the mums took them somewhere more lucrative than our eleven house!
I don't think they are doing the rounds of knocking on doors - too dangerous - so they say! Don't buy sweets for them - just for yourself for a reward.
I remember my first Halloween as a _homeowner_. I had the candy (which I liked) all ready, turned the lights out in the house, candle in the window, door open (Arizona at the time), played "Sonic Seasonings" by Walter (at the time) Carlos. Had a few munchkins come to the door, not many, but more came than what passed by.
They look like they would make lots of pies,to share.
