Continuing my walks around my own village, I came across this neat bit of work on the roadside pavement. The owners of the house on the other side of the fence have extended their garden that brightens the lane.
The lane narrows at this point with the pavement stopping right here. It is only the width of a car afterwards, so you need to look back and forth to see if anything is coming and stepping into danger
A little bit of gardening beneath the lane hedge is bordered by some neat edging, whilst a pretty flower container is placed outside the fence, all in a lovely yellow. You would never notice the telegraph pole and water hydrant sign would you. Perhaps they should have painted the manhole cover yellow as well.
I wonder if that's a mini pond in the glass container or a drinking point for animals, at least they can open their garden to the public without anyone having to go through the gate.
