No I'm not talking about a famous space journey but another brilliant wood sculpture that I found in somebodies front garden. The Eagle may have landed, but being under a tree it's allowed other birds to poop onto it's beak.
This may be the famous words of Neal Armstrong when he landed on the moon, July 12th 1969, but it has become a phrase meaning something or someone has arrived.
So therefore on my football teams achievement yesterday, The Eagle has Landed for Forest Green Rovers as they have a chance for promotion through the playoffs. That means my season of statistics has another two or three match to go including a chance to play at Wembley Stadium. I'm not going to count my eagles before the eggs have hatched.
Getting back to this carving, looks like two different woods, the eagle and the base, brilliant bit of work and I wouldn't mind it in my front garden next to my acer.
Such a stunning bit of wood carving and a realistic eagle , albeit a bit of muck on his beak !! - He would look very majestic by your acer Heather ! fav
How very demeaning for the Eagle....a proud bird being pooped on....exciting times for your football team but as you say anything could happen but to get to this stage is brilliant!
So pleased that your team is it the play offs . Fingers crossed
We use that saying when the salary is in the account :) that or 'the fox is in the vineyard'
Yay Forest Green Rovers, Wembley would be very exciting.
