Full Bloom is happening in the sunflower fields of Mckee Besher's Wildlife Management Area. Five years ago my July obsession with these fields began. It was a beautiful evening to visit with my mellow yellow friends.
Usually this field is 3-5 feet tall but this year is the tallest I have ever seen them. I'd estimate 7-10 feet and I didn't bring my ladder so my tripod can turn into a monopod. With it extended all the way, I held it up with the cable remote attached and the LCD screen turned on and tilted so I could see it and snapped off multiple shots . Hoping for a keeper.
I visited a sunflower field about the same time of day. The flowers were all facing away from the sun, just like yours are. Are they just slow to rotate? Its hard to get a good picture but i love yours.
@lynnz it's in Maryland about 35 minutes from my house. I rained almost the whole month of June so maybe you are right and that's why they are so tall.
