Today I went looking for some cows to photograph, and along the way I stopped at the city dump to see if there were some interesting rusty textures (as one does ?). The workers looked at me a little uneasily and probably assumed I was using my telephoto lens to check for stolen property, so I made sure I looked confident amongst the ramshakle decaying mess. There were plenty of potentially interesting shots, but the sun was in the wrong direction and the smell was so overpowering I did not stay long.
This was the most interesting shot I took - I was drawn to the intersecting angles, and the two toned effect of the blue & rust sandwiching the bird. Indian mynas are an introduced pest and it is fitting this one was photographed at the rubish tip!
