Smoked salmon and goat's cheese on rye as a treat for lunch,.... (yum!) and then I was surprised no one in the cafe even looked at me disapprovingly as I took 20 shots with the DSLR!
@ozziehoffy LOL - don't worry, I still feel quite nervous, and just pretend I am confident & oblivious of anyone's concerns. :) Exercises like this 'de-sensitise' my nerves - and it gets easier each time I push a new boundary.
i love this! fabulous candid with wonderful motion blur... gives a wonderful sense of hustle and bustle... also really like your processing... and see - it's amazing how little others around you care!
ok - i've been surfing your albums and the prospect of choosing a push challenge for you is incredibly daunting! you've done so many different things and you've done them beautifully!
overall i've found your photos to be lovely, light and whimsical... so for your challenge i am thinking about pushing you to shoot something dark and menacing... i don't mean you have to put yourself in danger, or find something dangerous... but just take a photo and (if necessary) process it, to give it a feeling of darkness...
@northy - yep fair call - I have actually been thinking about what 'meaningful shots' are all week. Subjects like that are daunting for an introvert - but that's what being pushed is about - & I feel the adrenaline kicking in already....
Thanks Monika :) - I used LR, & this is based on a free Dror Eyal preset called Anderland hand coloured from the Delicate Bones ll set available from http://www.facebook.com/DrorEyalPhotography/app_201143516562748 Dror is an amazing South African photographer who specialises in stylish wedding photography.
This preset is a faded split tone effect - highlights mustard (H55 S45) and shadows a duck blue (H199 S28). I dropped the saturation of the yellows quite a bit because the bench paintwork was canary yellow, and tweaked the settings in general a little, but it was really only a two minute job & done!
(I have now saved my version of the LR preset & can email it if it is of interest... & I can work out how to do that!!)
