as the season fades by ltodd

as the season fades

It has taken 6 years for me to get the hang of growing tulips. Perhaps part of the intrigue is in the transience - a short, colourful explosion, then retreat until the next spring.
Gently sublime.

I'm thinking it took less time for you to figure out how to photograph them. This one is lovely. The fabulous composition is perfect with that beautiful light and those drops.

Unfortunately the wind arrives and blows all the petals away in my part of the world. I do like to see them just like this!

@maggiemae yes - they do struggle if the weather warms up too. We always have lots of spring wind, but at least this year it has been such a cold spring they have survived longer.
@grammyn but I 'talk' to them every day though, so they know I am watching them ;)
@domenicododaro oh I see that now!
@mikegifford lucky because I had lay flat in the wet grass to get the angle I wanted.
@thistle @salza thanks, I always appreciate your stopping and taking time to comment.

So interesting to see the tulip at this stage and the tonal range is lovely. Like that the color is echoed in the upper left. Just lovely.
