Whale watching by ludwigsdiana

Whale watching

I was so surprised to see the Dassie (Rock Hyrax) when I took the shot of the walkway. There are many on Table Mountain but I have never seen one here. Hard to believe that it is the closest relative of the African Elephant.
Unbelievable - I have never heard of them before! They look much more like a dog than an elephant.

I am so glad you showed a close-up of this animal! I have never heard of it before and I have to say it looks more like a cross between a dog and a seal than being related closely to an elephant! It’s a lovely Composition against the water

Ok, elephants are mammals and apparently this little guy is too- but the "closest" relative to the elephant? I'm not buying that one! hehe I love the shot though- he almost looks like someone's pet. Good catch!
