I have actually managed to connect my Canon to my Huawei and uploaded some photos via WiFi! Is uploading to a Samsung tablet as accessible or would using a card reader be necessary? I am hopeless at technology but am thinking of a tablet rather than my laptop for photos.
just connected (new) canon camera to sony phone - but done nothing with it yet!! Have never managed to connect anything to my tablet, but will try again - and then I might be able to give you some hints!
Love the light on the droplets. I find using my tablet very easy to upload from. I connect it to the internet with WiFi just like you did with the laptop. No card readers involved.
