Sigh....I have 156 more days until I finish year 2 on 365. I really love this site but it does take up a lot of time and I need to start working on my projects of the photos I've taken. I take it you won't continue but hope you stay in touch from time to time. Your photos, including this one, are all so entertaining ;-)
@losthorizon My lens was maybe 2-3 inches away? Yeah, ridiculously close. (Even closer for spiders. That's why they jump on me easily.) The macro lens I use is a Sony 30mm f/3.5 lens. It really is more suited for macro subjects that are inanimate. Very short working distance. If you're going to get a macro lens for shooting bugs and such, get one that's at least 100mm. I once had a photographer (who had a huge lens, tripod, big bag of equipment, I think he was shooting birds) remark, after watching me shove my camera into a bush, "Wah, you go so close!" So embarrassing. 8P
@myautofocuslife It really is amazing how close you get. I've been looking at macros, and the only one I can afford is a 40mm right now. Think I'm gonna wait to save up for a 60 or 100. At the same time though, with the 40, i could still take nice portraits and still get macro out of it. Gonna have to think about it. Funny about the bird photographer.
Great macro...this has eggs in it...you can see one in the chamber just to the right of the wasp! I wouldn't want to get that close...don't like stings!
I'm amazed that all the comments I have read, I still have no idea what this is! A wasp, bee, bug? Interesting about the lens! 40 seems to be good- I can't get lens - my camera is what you have but I love the challenge!
awesome, I am so glad I came across your project so early on in my year, you are a real inspiration, it has been fun following you, hopefully you will still drop by now and then once the 25 days have been knocked off, thanks for the bug hunting tips :)
Another great macro Livia! Oh I'm sure you'll make the last 25 appear effortless! After all you have so many little friends in the insect world to keep us entertained. You are finishing well and have raised the bar. Excellent shot- love that it includes what he's building.
A great, big, busy, up close and personal "THANK YOU!" to everyone for stopping by! It's a tropical paper wasp. Rather small, at about 1cm. He was quite still on the nest, so I moved closer to take a few quick shots. Once I was done, I left, I didn't want to hang around and risk getting stung. Thank you so much for your kind words. They are a great source of encouragement for me. I am grateful!
this is fantastic!
I give 365 one hour a day . That`s how I deal with this and my other hobby`s
